Areas to Give to

Since its founding in 1850, Hiram College has maintained an institutional heritage of modest prestige and academic excellence. Sustaining Hiram's stature in the 21st Century requires a judicious balance between tuition, development income sources, and operational efficiency. Gifts to Hiram College help preserve Hiram's legacy by defraying fixed expenses and providing opportunities to create sources of income. There are four main areas to which gifts may be designated:

The Hiram Fund

Annual gifts to the Hiram Fund provide cash to pay the College's general operating expenses. Gifts can be restricted to special purposes.

Capital Projects

Gifts to capital projects help enhance Hiram's physical plant by supporting the construction of new campus facilities and the renovation of older buildings.

Endowment

Endowed funds can be established for many purposes. The income generated by investment of the endowment principal is used to carry out the purposes of specific endowed funds. Income generated by the College's general endowment fund defrays operating expenses.

Memorial Gifts

A gift to Hiram College is a wonderful way to honor the memory and spirit of those who have left the Hiram family, whether alumni, faculty or staff, parents, or friends of the College.
