2006 Event Recap

HIRAM, OHIO -- On Thursday, June 15, Hiram College hosted its 46th Annual Terrier Scramble Golf Outing at the Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville, Ohio.

Thirty-two total foursomes competed in this year's event with the foursome of Bob Swartz, Casey Everett, Greg Terrell and Jeff Doughty taking top honors with a combined effort of 18 under par.  The group of Doug Fedoryshyn, Mike Fedoryshyn, Sr., Mike Fedoryshyn, Jr. and Jack Groselle came in second finishing 16 under par and the foursome of Gary Barnard, Jim Mottice, Bob Naehring and Bob Mottice came in third at 15 under par.

In addition to playing golf, participants were treated to a dinner following the event put on by the Hiram College Catering Service.  There was also a silent auction featuring items such as a Cleveland Cavaliers prize package including a Zydrunas Illgauskis autographed jersey and three autographed hats, four Cleveland Indians tickets including a Casey Blake autographed picture and items from the Cleveland Browns.  A large number of local businesses also donated items for the silent auction.

"This year's outing was a big success," said Hiram College Athletic Director Tom Mulligan.  "We had one of the largest turnouts we have ever had and everyone had a good time.

"We of course could never had been able to put this event together without a lot of help from people at Hiram and the supervisors of Sugar Bush Golf Club," added Mulligan.  "We want to thank these people for making the outing and all of the day's events something that we can look forward to from year to year."
