Ohio Attorney Jim Petro Addresses Press Club on Sept. 28

The Akron Press Club continues its 2005-2006 Public Affairs series on Wednesday, Sept. 28 with a talk by Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro, Republican gubernatorial candidate.
Petro took the oath as Ohio’s 46th Attorney General in 2003.  His experience spans more than 30 years in both the public and private sectors.
Petro’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.  The program will be televised on a tape-delay basis by Time Warner Cable of Akron, Ch. 23.
A buffet luncheon will be served at 11:45 a.m., followed by the program.  The cost is $10 for Press Club members, $15 for non-members. For reservations contact Abe or Nancy Zaidan at 330- 835-4980 or by email at azaidan@neo.rr.com

PRESS CLUB COMMITTEES NOW BEING FORMED

The Akron Press Club is looking for folks who would like to take a more
active role in the club and its future.  The Board will be forming new
committees for the 2005-06 season.  The committees will be open to the
entire membership. In addition to giving you a voice in the Press Club, the
committees will give you an opportunity to meet and socialize with other
members.

Committee members would be asked to attend one meeting monthly, to be
scheduled at a mutually convenient time.  There would be no meetings in
June, July and August, unless special circumstances arose.

Plans currently call for the formation of committees to handle the
following: Communications, Programs, Social Events, the Annual Book Sale
and Special Events. A board member will chair each committee.

Please consider shaping the future of the Akron Press Club by joining one
of these groups.  If you are interested in signing up, or would like more
information, contact Bob Burford at burford@wksu.org or at 330-672-9154.
